When play begins on the morning of day one, it will be a spectacular showcase of badminton from the start, with players from Chinese Taipei, Singapore, and Australia giving it their all to emerge from the qualification stages into the main draws. However, their fight will not stop there. Most qualifying players will face seeded opponents in the main draw on the same day. The rest of day one will also feature the round of 64 for Men’s Singles and some matches from the round of 32 for Mixed Doubles.
Day two will begin with fierce competition unfolding across all the doubles disciplines and the women’s singles. In her first tournament since her Paris Olympics campaign, Tiffany Ho from Australia and is the fourth seed, will face New Zealand’s Jenny Zhu in the first round. The 2023 Bendigo International Women’s Singles Champion, Jaslyn Hooi from Singapore, sits in the bottom half of the draw as the seventh seed and will be up against Yi En Hsieh from Chinese Taipei. Across the doubles disciplines, many Oceania pairs are looking to make a strong impact on home soil in the early stages to gain momentum and progress to the next round.
