Oceania Cruises is bringing the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life to its fleet, with an ambitious goal of raising $150,000 for cancer research, patient support services and advocacy efforts by the end of the year.
So far, Relay for Life at Sea has launched on Vista and Insignia. The company plans to debut it across the rest of its ships in the coming months.
Guests who want to participate can engage in a little friendly competition by walking as many laps around the ships’ fitness tracks as possible. Travelers can register by scanning a QR code in Oceani’s onboard newsletter or visiting cancer.org/relayforlifeatsea. A minimum donation of $25 is required for participation.
After the walk, guests will get together at the end of their cruise for an event that includes special recognition and prizes
“This initiative reflects Oceania Cruises’ commitment not only to delivering exceptional travel experiences but also to making a positive impact in the communities we touch, consistently aiming to foster a spirit of unity,” says Frank A. Del Rio, president of Oceania Cruises. “We look forward to seeing not only our guests, but our officers and team members, come together to celebrate survivors, honor those we’ve lost and contribute to the fight against cancer.”
