Oceania Cruises has appointed Kal Sindhu as its new regional sales executive as the line looks to improve its relationship with agents in the UK
Sindhu joins the line’s sales team with a wealth of experience in the travel industry, most recently as sales manager at Travelbag, where he spent 12 years. Prior to that, he was at Thomas Cook for six years.
He joins Oceania’s six-strong sales team in the UK to support agents and the trade headed up by Louise Craddock, director of sales, UK and Ireland.
The wider team includes Alex Farquharson, senior manager key accounts, Sharon Wilson, sales manager north, Scotland and Ireland, Mark Godden, sales manager south, Kim Gough, inside sales executive and Leah Williams, senior sales support executive.
Craddock said: “We are thrilled to welcome Kal to Oceania Cruises. His vast experience and ability to drive sales makes him the perfect addition to the UK and Ireland sales team. Kal will be instrumental in helping us to continue our goal to best support our trade partners.”
Sindhu appointment latest in string of trade-focussed moves from Oceania
The appointment is the latest in a string of moves from Oceania to bolster its ties with agents. Earlier this year, the line introduced pre-paid gratuities on all UK and Ireland bookings to make pricing clearer for the trade.
The announcement followed the launch of the line’s simply MORE offer, which introduced free roundtrip airfare, free airport transfers, free shore excursions and free beverages to all cruise packages departing 1 October 2023 and beyond.
Speaking to Cruise Trade News in March, vice president of international sales Jason Worth outlined the line’s intentions to host more than 2,000 agents across its 2024 ship visit programme.
