The new dining spots are Aquamar Kitchen, the wellness-focused venue that debuted on Vista this year; an expanded poolside ice cream parlor serving milkshakes and smoothies, plus inventive flavors from artisan ice cream company Humphry Slocombe; and a casual alfresco trattoria offering Italian dishes, including freshly-made pizzas.
All refreshed or new ships
Marina is the last of Oceania Cruises’ fleet to be refurbished so the line will field all refreshed or new vessels, with an eighth ship, Allura, set to debut in spring 2025.
‘Marina is a ship designed by foodies, built by foodies, for foodies,’ said Frank A. Del Rio, president of Oceania Cruises. ‘ … Food is the foundation of what we do on board each of our ships and, globally, in the destinations we visit.’
Oceania claims the highest percentage of culinary personnel of any line. With one chef for every 10 passengers, half the crew is dedicated to cooking or serving food.
Aquamar Kitchen
This new signature restaurant presents wellness-inspired menus, with a hint of indulgence. Breakfast choices include smoothies, cold-pressed juices and energy bowls, while lunch offers avocado toast selections and globally inspired salads and wraps. Further options include an Impossible burger, yellowfin tuna tacos and a crunchy chicken sandwich.
ANNE KALOSH
The beverage menu will feature a selection of premium, award-winning non-alcoholic wines, Pierre Zero from France as well as mocktails crafted with Lyre’s non-alcoholic spirits. Aquamar Kitchen will be open for breakfast and lunch and does not require reservations. As with other Oceania Cruises restaurants, its carries no extra charge.
Waves Grill’s evening transformation
In the evening, Waves Grill will transform into an alfresco trattoria serving freshly made pizzas, grilled Italian specialties, spicy dry-rubbed chicken wings, salads, rosemary focaccia with burrata and desserts.
An all-day ice cream parlor will be added to the pool deck with the selection including flavors from Humphry Slocombe, plus milkshakes and smoothies.
Revamped upper suites
Marina’s accommodations and public spaces will also be refreshed. All upper suites will be revamped with a lighter, brighter look.
The penthouse suites will be completely redone with custom furniture, new closets and cabinetry to increase storage space, plus new carpets and upholstery, modern lighting and more outlets and USB ports. Each penthouse suite will have a sleek restyled bathroom with Italian marble throughout, abundant drawer space and over-sized showers.
Further enhancements
Classic steak house Polo Grill will be enhanced with new carpet, chairs and stylish window treatments, while Martinis, Horizons, The Grand Dining Room and Library will be updated with plush new carpets and refreshed upholstery.
The refurbished Marina is scheduled to debut on May 18.
Summer sailings include a 20-day Oslo to Copenhagen Scandinavia/Baltic cruise on July 6, a 44-day London round-trip to ports in the North Atlantic and Northern Europe on July 16, a 10-day Copenhagen to Tromsø segment on July 26 exploring Norway in depth and a 15-day Tromsø to Reykjavik cruise including Svalbard and Greenland on Aug. 5.
