In the recent European elections, only 494 Greek expatriates from Australia and New Zealand cast their votes, out of the 835 registered voters.

New Democracy (ND): 205 votes
Communist Party of Greece (KKE): 72 votes
PASOK: 37 votes
SYRIZA: 34 votes
Hellenic Solution – Velopoulos: 28 votes
MeRA25: 27 votes
Course of Freedom: 12 votes
Voice of Logic – Latinopoulou: 8 votes
NIKI: 6 votes
There were also five blank ballots and five invalid ballots.
Thanasis Tsouchandaris, a New Democracy candidate, finished last among his party’s 42 candidates with just 3,610 votes. On the other hand, Katerina Priftaki, the SYRIZA candidate from Melbourne, fared somewhat better but still ranked 37th within her party, receiving 3,610 votes.
Greeks abroad voting overview:
Greek expatriates, who voted exclusively by mail, showed strong support for New Democracy, mirroring the percentage seen in the last national elections. This support gave ND nearly a 30-point lead over the second-place SYRIZA.
Out of 50,204 registered citizens, 36,645 (72.99 per cent participation) mailed in their votes.

New Democracy (ND): 40.17 per cent (14,455 votes)
SYRIZA: 11.14 per cent (4,010 votes)
MeRA25: 9.22 per cent (3,318 votes)
Communist Party of Greece (KKE): 8.74 per cent (3,145 votes)
PASOK – Movement for Change: 8.72 per cent (3,139 votes)
New Left: 4.85 per cent (1,745 votes)
Hellenic Solution: 2.37 per cent (852 votes)
NIKI: 2.27 per cent (817 votes)
Course of Freedom: 2.11per cent (760 votes)
KOSMOS: 2.03 per cent (729 votes)
Democrats: 1.54 per cent (555 votes)
Voice of Logic: 1.48 per cent (534 votes)
These results reflect the preferences of Greeks living abroad, with New Democracy securing a significant lead.
