King Charles to pause cancer treatment during Oceania tour

Charles and Camilla last went to Australia in 2018, where they visited Queensland and the Northern Territory

The King will pause his weekly cancer treatment during his high-profile tour of Australia and Samoa next week.

Royal doctors have given Charles permission to briefly halt the weekly cycle for his visit to Australia, which will be followed by a state visit to Samoa in the South Pacific.

The King was diagnosed with an undisclosed type of cancer in February. He will receive treatment until his departure, and resume outpatient appointments when he returns to the UK, the Daily Mail reported.

He will be away for 11 days, with the tour covering nine days with two days of travel either side. His doctor will accompany him on what is the most significant overseas tour he has made since the diagnosis.
