A delegation of Greek companies, organised by the Hellenic-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry was on a business mission aimed at exploring new markets in Oceania and Southeast Asia. The mission, which ran from September 30 to October 11, focused on establishing bilateral business collaborations to penetrate the advanced markets of Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore.
The delegation visited Melbourne, Sydney, and Adelaide in Australia, Auckland in New Zealand, and Singapore, where they learned about local market conditions, demand, and competition. The participants showcased their products to local importers, distributors, and representatives, aiming to create long-term strategies for entering these markets.

Dr Athanasios Kelemis, General Director and Board Member of the Hellenic-German Chamber, stressed the importance of such missions.
“The export bridges that the Chamber builds in markets within and beyond Europe enable Greek companies to include new destinations in their plans, identify suitable partners, and increase their export volumes,” Kelemis said.
The key participants in the mission included major Greek businesses such as; MEVGAL (dairy), ALMI (delicatessen); ELMAR CRETE (olive oil and olives); THARROS HERBS & OILS (essential oils); ARKAS (nutritional supplements) and VERPAN ( aluminum doors).
The companies held a total of 66 B2B meetings for the food sector and seven for the aluminum sector through the support from the Offices of Economic and Commercial Affairs in Sydney and Singapore, and the Hellenic-Australian Chamber of Commerce.
These interactions revealed significant potential for expanding exports and establishing partnerships in these regions.
“The positive outcomes of this mission highlight that with well-planned initiatives, clear goals, and methodical organisation, Greek businesses can improve their export performance even in distant, unknown, or demanding markets,” Dr Kelemis said.
